You won't be using it to film your kid's next tee-ball game. But if you find yourself working on a film or hit TV show, the Lytro Cinema Camera
needs to be on your radar. Using the company's innovative Light Field
technology, it captures not just images, but the position of each object
in the scene in 3D space. As a result, you can adjust both the focus
point and depth of field in post, change shutter angles and frame rates
after the fact, and ditch the green screen for good. Of course, it takes
a lot of data to make this all possible — up to 400 gigabytes per
second — so the camera comes with its own dedicated server and
processing unit.
